Frequently Asked Questions

SDS is a boutique company that prides itself on personalized customer service. We care about you and your financial situation, so we are results driven and client focused. We love what we do – and we’re good at it too!

Well, that depends on what it is, but as a general guide:

  • Default
    • 5 years (please note that paying a debt associated with the default does not automatically mean it will be removed)
  • Financial hardship information
    • 1 year
  • Repayment history
    • 2 years
  • Court judgement
    • 5 years
  • Credit enquiry
    • 2 years
  • Current credit obligations
    • 2 years (from the end of the consumer credit)
  • Bankruptcy: The later of:
    • 5 years starting on the day you became bankrupt, or

2 years starting on the day you were no longer bankrupt

Firstly, you’ll have a free consultation with one of our Case Managers so we can understand exactly what you need and what the best approach will be. You may then be asked to provide SDS with some documentation and then after that, we’ll take care of the rest!

It depends on the work you would like us to do, but we have an upfront fee and then a success fee once we’ve completed the work and you are happy. We also offer an interest free payment plan should you need to take up that option as well. All of our fees are disclosed via email prior to SDS starting work, so you can make an informed decision about coming onboard with SDS.

This depends on what work you would like us to do and how many creditors are involved. Sometimes we can have everything finished within a week or two, and other times it might take longer to get the results you want. Our Case managers can give you an estimate before we start and will always provide updates as we go along.

No. Once you come onboard with SDS, your Case Manager takes on the responsibility of communication with your creditors and you will no longer receive any contact from them.
